HARMONY of JAPAN is a Japanese Women’s Chorus right here in the Dayton area. Forming two years ago, this group enjoys performing popular, as well as traditional Japanese songs. Their love of music is rivaled only by the joy they experience singing together. They will sing for about 30 minutes in Japanese. First they will sing a Studio Ghibli Medley, featuring songs from of their movies. Second is “Sakura” (cherry blossom), composed by Naotaro Moriyama and now very popular for celebrating happiness for our friends. The last song is called “Sekai ni Hitotsu dake no Hana” (the only flower in the world), composed by Noriyuki Makihara in 2003. It became a big hit all over the country, and proceeds from the song were donated to the Tsunami relief. The public is welcome and encouraged to come.
